Jaw Jaw is a Saramaccan village in the heart of Suriname on the upper Suriname river at the Jaw Jaw rapids.
Opposite the village, on a large island, lies the Isadou resort. Owner Celientje takes care of everything here, together with her husband Andre and their staff. There are fun activities on the program, such as a village and forest walk, there is also a night boat ride on the program to spot caimans. The surroundings are beautiful, there are rapids (soela’s) and quiet swimming spots to find the island. At low tide you can climb over the higher rocks yourself and go to the village of JawJaw.
