KWAMA BACK TO BASIC

Kwama Creek is located on the edge of the Surinamese Central Nature Reserve, a magical place where you can go back to basics. Here you will not only experience adventure, but also relive a piece of history. During this trip we go back to basics, just like our ancestors did in the time of slavery, when they founded their villages in the deep jungle. You will learn in a creative and practical way how to survive in the jungle, from collecting food to creating your own shelter. This trip is not only a challenge, but also a unique opportunity to feel connected to the past and the nature around you.

Program

Day 1

Day one starts with our journey to Kwama Creek, where our adventure starts! We will drive to the village of Witagron where we will continue our journey by boat. As soon as we arrive at our destination, we will immediately start setting up our camp, a perfect way to immerse yourself in the jungle. After setting up our camp, it is time to explore nature and look for our dinner. Who knows what tasty treats we can find today!

Day 2

On the second day, we start the morning with a delicious breakfast in nature. Then we take a forest walk, where you will learn all about the hidden secrets of the jungle and the history of the escaped slaves who found their hiding place here. After this forest walk, it is time to relax: relax in the hammock or take a refreshing dip in the Kwama creek. Then we will go looking for ingredients for our dinner together, to prepare them together and enjoy the flavors that the jungle has to offer. After dinner, it is possible to take an evening boat trip to spot wildlife.

Day 3

On day three we start the morning with a beautiful sunrise, followed by a hearty breakfast. After breakfast we prepare for the return trip to the village of Witagron, where an interesting village walk awaits us. Here you will discover the local culture and daily life of the Kwinti tribe. After the walk we enjoy a delicious lunch before we leave for Paramaribo again.
