Jungle resort Pingpe is a resort located in the upper Suriname area.
From Paramaribo it is a 3 hour drive to Atjoni and from Atjoni it is another 3.5 hours by boat to this beautiful resort.
There is a nice program of activities and relaxing and of course enjoying the water and the beautiful nature.
If you want to travel pleasantly and enjoy our beautiful country Suriname, there is sometimes also an option to travel by bus-korjaal.
These boats visit almost all villages along the way, the ride takes a bit longer than.
Day 1 – By boat and bus
Outward journey by bus-korjaal Between 08.00-08.30 you will be picked up from your location and we will then drive for +/- 2.5 hours to Atjoni. Upon arrival at Atjoni, lunch will be offered. In the meantime, the boatman and the guide will load the korjaal to continue the journey to Jungle Resort Pingpe. After you have enjoyed lunch, we will sail for +/- 3.5 hours on the beautiful upper Suriname river. During this trip you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings, you will also see how the local residents are busy with their daily activities and the children playing in the water. After dinner you will meet the local employees and the guide will tell you about: – the Saramaccan culture and the language – interesting facts about the island and the area – the program of the next day. To end the evening, you will take an evening trip with the korjaal. You will enjoy the silence but also the beautiful sounds of the jungle. The guide will also show you where the caimans are in the water.
Day 2
After breakfast you will take a forest walk with the guide. During the walk you will be taught about the different medicinal plants, trees, animals etc. After this walk you will return to the resort where a delicious lunch awaits. In the afternoon you will sail towards Tapawatra Sula where you can swim and enjoy a natural massage of the Sula. On the way back we will visit the health center of Djumu. After dinner we will enjoy the performances of the local band and dancers. (for 4 people or more).
Day 3 – Return journey
Return trip by canoe-bus. After breakfast we sail back to Atjoni. Lunch will be served in the boat or on Atjoni. When you arrive at Atjoni you will board the bus and we will drive back to Paramaribo. Return trip by plane When you leave by plane you will still have time on the last morning to: swim in the river, Laze in the hammock in the sun or shade with a book. Before you leave there is still time for an early lunch and then we will sail by canoe to Djumu airport. From Djumu you will fly back to Paramaribo
